At an angle of 36 degrees, 1.57 * cos(36) equals 1.4 metres. That's *just* enough
to get through the arena door! It leaves travel/play of 0.87 metres for the
leg, which is the approximate maximum height to which the robot can lift itself
off the ground (with legs still in contact on ground!)
An assessement has been carried out on the stresses
that a 35mm diameter leg, in steel, would be subjected to. The conclusion is
that it would survive, comfortably, if capable of flexing by up to 12.5mm.
A separate assessement also needs to be carried out on the gear-housing
and mounting assembly, yet to be finalised.
